Baseball Recap: Atrisco Heritage Academy Find Success

While Atrisco Heritage Academy's win against Del Norte wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Jaguars narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Knights 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Jaguars have posted since March 8th.

Jedidiah Montano was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over 4.1 innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Atrisco Heritage Academy is 5-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-13 otherwise. Montano was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

Montano wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Fabian Escobedo, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits Escobedo has posted since back in March.

Atrisco Heritage Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-14 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Del Norte, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-17-1.
