Basketball Recap: Mclean Skates Past Claude with Ease

McLean won the last time they faced Claude and things went their way on Friday too. The McLean Tigers claimed a resounding 63-36 victory over the Claude Mustangs. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matches by 20 points or more this season.

McLean was led to victory by Collin Alston and Jayvon Salazar. Alston went 8 for 17 to rack up 20 points along with seven boards and five steals, while Salazar dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds. The contest was Alston's 13th in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Hagler, who posted six points.

McLean smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in December of 2023.

McLean is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points over those games. As for Claude, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-18.

Coming up, McLean will face off against Stratford at 4:00 p.m. on February 15th. Claude does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
