Volleyball Recap: Tempe Prep Knights vs. Phoenix Country Day Eagles
Tempe Prep and Phoenix Country Day squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Tempe Prep had to settle for second. They came up short against the Eagles, falling 3-0. The shutout was out of character for the Knights seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in October.
Tempe Prep took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-15, 25-18.
Emily Youngs paced Tempe Prep's offense, picking up seven kills. Youngs got some help from Ella Buettner and her 13 assists. Bren Sarca and Hazel Andersson kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.
Tempe Prep's loss dropped their record down to 18-11. As for Phoenix Country Day, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-3 record this season.
