Volleyball Recap: Tempe Prep Falls Short of Phoenix Country Day in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Tempe Prep can now relate to. They came up short against the Phoenix Country Day Eagles on Saturday, falling 3-0. The Knights have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

While Tempe Prep was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Phoenix Country Day's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-15, 25-18.

Emily Youngs paced Tempe Prep's offense, picking up seven kills. Youngs got some help from Ella Buettner and her 13 assists. Bren Sarca and Hazel Andersson kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Tempe Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 18-11. As for Phoenix Country Day, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 22-3.

Tempe Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Phoenix Country Day, they have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Rancho Solano Prep on the 8th.
