Baseball Recap: Chippewa Valley Comes Up Short

Chippewa Valley suffered their biggest loss since May 3rd on Saturday. They lost 17-2 to the Mattawan Wildcats.

Chippewa Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dom Legato, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one run. Jack Kaul was another, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.

Chippewa Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 15-12-2. As for Mattawan, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-4-4 record this season.

Chippewa Valley is taking a road trip to face off against Bay City Western at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday. As for Mattawan, they will be playing at home against Lakeland at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday.
