Basketball Recap: St. Cecilia Academy Scarabs vs. Kenwood Knights
St. Cecilia Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They fell 41-30 to the Kenwood Knights.

Several Scarabs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mia Galassini, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds. That's the most boards Galassini has posted since back in November of 2023. Another player making a difference was Ndidiamaka Umeukeje, who posted five points in addition to 13 boards and three steals.
Even though they lost, St. Cecilia Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive matchups.
It was another big night for Yazmine Pearson, who put up 17 points for Kenwood. The game was Pearson's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zakiya White, who had nine points.
St. Cecilia Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Kenwood, their victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-8.
