Recap: Stewarts Creek Red Hawks vs. Smyrna Bulldogs
Make it six blowout wins for the Stewarts Creek Red Hawks this season. They blew past Smyrna 62-20 at home. Given Stewarts Creek's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 70th, while Smyrna is ranked 312th), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Stewarts Creek to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jayda Bernard, who scored 17 points along with nine rebounds and three blocks. Camden Ward was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Stewarts Creek is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for Smyrna, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stewarts Creek will face off against Wilson Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wilson Central is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 50.8 points per game. Smyrna won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Lebanon at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th.
