Preview: Johnson vs. West Hall
Johnson will be defending their home turf for the first time on Friday when they go up against West Hall in at 7:30 PM. The MaxPreps rankings say the odds are against Johnson, but that can only make success all the sweeter.
Johnson had to travel to play their first game of the season, and the final result was worth the trip. They steamrollered Oglethorpe County 38-0. Johnson was expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Meanwhile, West Hall had to kick off their season with an away game, and unfortunately wound up with a long bus ride home. Last Friday, they lost to Commerce by a decisive 19-35 margin. West Hall were down by 7-28 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Johnson's lifted them to 1-0 while West Hall's loss dropped them down to 0-1. We'll find out if Johnson can add another positive mark to their record or if West Hall can shake off the loss and take the spring out of Johnson's step.
