Baseball Game Preview: Madonna Blue Dons vs. Monroe Central Seminoles

The Madonna Blue Dons will challenge the Monroe Central Seminoles at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Monroe Central took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Madonna, who comes in off a win.

Madonna's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They blew past Wellsville 19-0. The Blue Dons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 contests by six runs or more this season.

Reno Fuscardo made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Madonna got a massive performance out of Maddox Bowen, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Luke Wingett was another key player, going 1-for-2 with four RBI and one run.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Monroe Central's offense. They lost 10-0 to Union Local on Monday. The Seminoles just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Monroe Central's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Madonna, their victory bumped their record up to 19-4.
