Recap: Latta Vikings vs. Green Sea Floyds Trojans
The Latta Vikings won against the Green Sea Floyds Trojans last Tuesday with 44 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Latta came out on top against Green Sea Floyds by a score of 44-36. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Latta.
Latta was led to victory by Shawniza Bethea and Kardae Mcfadden. Bethea scored 17 points along with six steals and five rebounds, while Mcfadden dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Bethea has scored at least a third of Latta's points. Another player making a difference was Layla Hyatt, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
Latta's victory bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Green Sea Floyds, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-11.
Latta will head out on the road to take on East Clarendon at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in East Clarendon's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while Latta has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road. Green Sea Floyds will take on Lamar at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Lamar is ranked 212th, while Green Sea Floyds is ranked 220th).
