Baseball Recap: Bloom's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Bloom waltzed into their contest on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They put the hurt on the Crete-Monee Warriors with a sharp 15-5 win. That looming 15-5 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Blazing Trojan yet this season.

Dan Williams made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up five earned runs off eight hits (and only one walk). Williams was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Bloom's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-7 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Bloom got a massive performance out of D'Majae Montgomery, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Montgomery a new career-high in RBI (three). Talen Taverne was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Bloom kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in four consecutive games.

Bloom's record is now 5-7. As for Crete-Monee, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 5-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Warriors beat Bloom by a score of 5-4 on Wednesday.
