Softball Recap: Monrovia Takes a Loss

Monrovia and University squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Monrovia had to settle for second. They came up short against the Trojans, falling 21-1. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Wildcats couldn't push the score so high this time.

Mackenzie Delgado was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one stolen base.

Monrovia's defeat dropped their record down to 9-15-1. As for University, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season.

Monrovia does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for University, they will face off against Coastal Christian at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday. The Conquerors will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Trojans surely won't give up without a fight.
