Evangelical Christian gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They breezed past the First Baptist Academy Lions to the tune of 29-0. The Sentinels pushed the score to 22-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Lions had little chance of recovering from.

Evangelical Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tyce Harris led the charge by rushing for 121 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. Those 121 rushing yards gave Harris a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Liam Avin, who picked up 110 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Evangelical Christian's defense and their eight sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Mack Mitchell and Nathan Wickmann, who racked up six sacks between them. Mitchell has been hot recently, having also posted five or more total tackles the last three times he's played.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Evangelical Christian will challenge Neumann at 7:00 p.m. on the 29th. As for First Baptist Academy, they will take on Northside Christian at 7:00 p.m. on the 29th.
