Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Draughn). They claimed a resounding 75-46 victory over the NCSSM: Morganton Dragons. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Dragons: they've now won five in a row.

Leading Draughn to victory were Kayden Lytle and Cayden Lewis. Lytle dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 assists, while Lewis went 7 of 12 from beyond the arc to rack up 23 points and five rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Lytle a new career-high in steals (six). Connor Houston was another key player, putting up ten points and five boards.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Draughn was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Draughn's victory bumped their record up to 7-14. As for NCSSM: Morganton, they dropped their record down to 4-14 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Wildcats face off against the Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mountain Heritage knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten matches -- so hopefully Draughn likes a good challenge. As for NCSSM: Morganton, they will face off against Avery County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
