Softball Recap: Dunbar Comes Up Short

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Dunbar and Golden Gate, and Golden Gate kept the tradition alive. Dunbar fell just short of Golden Gate by a score of 15-13 on Tuesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Monday (12), the Tigers still had to take the loss.

Arianna Corgelas stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she scored two runs and stole six bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lisa Guerrero-Salinas, who scored two runs and stole five bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.

Dunbar's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-7. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.0 runs over those games. As for Golden Gate, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-8.
