Recap: South Haven Christian vs. West Florida Baptist Academy Conquerors
South Haven Christian's game on Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They came out on top against West Florida Baptist Academy by a score of 58-47. That's another feather in the cap for South Haven Christian, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Aliya Gagliano continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 30 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of South Haven Christian's points. Alexis Palmore was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
Despite the loss, West Florida Baptist Academy saw an underclassman step up: Olivia Pearce dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. Pearce is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Makenna Enfinger, who scored 14 points.
South Haven Christian's win bumped their record up to 12-8. As for West Florida Baptist Academy, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-6.
South Haven Christian will head out on the road to square off against Pleasant View Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for West Florida Baptist Academy, West Florida Baptist Academy and Pensacola Catholic will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Pensacola Catholic is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
