Football Game Preview: Macon County vs. Upperman

On Friday Upperman will take on Macon County at 7:00 PM. Upperman have bulldozed their previous seven opponents, so Macon County might have their hands full.

Upperman put the finishing touches on their 7th blowout victory of the season last Friday. Everything went their way against Grundy County as they made off with a 49-20 victory. Senior Blake Metzgar, who rushed for 158 yards and 3 touchdowns, was a major factor in Upperman's success. If you haven't heard Metzgar's name lately, then you haven't been paying much attention: he has loomed large in their past eight games.

Meanwhile, the struggle was real when Macon County and DeKalb County clashed, but Macon County ultimately edged out the opposition 20-17. The tight race was right in line with the MaxPreps state rankings' forecast.

Their wins bumped Upperman to 8-0 and Macon County to 4-4. We'll see which team can carry over their success and which team inevitably falls when Upperman and Macon County clash.
