Volleyball Recap: Hilltop Takes a Loss

Hilltop was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Calexico Bulldogs. The Lancers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Hilltop's defeat dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Calexico, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.

Hilltop will challenge San Diego Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Calexico, they will square off against Monte Vista at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
