Flag Football Recap: Notre Dame Comes Up Short Despite U'ilani Wells' Big Defensive Game

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Notre Dame can now relate to. They fell 18-12 to the Burlingame Panthers on Wednesday.

Although Notre Dame took the loss, they still got scores from Isela Trujillo and U'Ilani Wells.

Notre Dame didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Wells. Notre Dame got some further help from Melia Morales: she made 14 total tackles.

Notre Dame's defeat dropped their record down to 16-6-1. As for Burlingame, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-7.

Notre Dame does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Burlingame, they will face off against San Mateo at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Panthers 8.8, the Bearcats 10.1) so any points scored will be well earned.
