Softball Recap: Exeter Township Takes a Loss

If Exeter Township was feeling good fresh off their 18-0 takedown of Daniel Boone last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles came up short against the Wilson Warriors on Wednesday, falling 11-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-6 back in March.

Jillian Warner made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Exeter Township has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games. As for Wilson, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-16 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Exeter Township will host Penn Manor at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Comets will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight. As for Wilson, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Fleetwood at 4:15 p.m. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Warriors' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
