Basketball Recap: Thatcher Comes Up Short

Thatcher was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a blow against the Valley Christian Trojans, falling 65-27. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2021.

Thatcher's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Valley Christian, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 12-5.

Thatcher and Valley Christian could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings. Thatcher (ranked 186th) will meet Pusch Ridge Christian Academy (ranked 34th) at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Valley Christian will take on Snowflake at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday down 49 places (65 vs. 16).
