Soccer Game Preview: Garfield vs. Legacy

The Garfield Bulldogs will head out to face off against the Legacy Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Garfield's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They skirted past South Gate 1-0. The game was the first time Garfield have beaten South Gate on their pitch since January 20, 2023.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last contest, Legacy made sure to put some goals up on the board against Roosevelt on Friday. They put the hurt on the Rough Riders with a sharp 4-1 victory. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Legacy's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 267th, while Roosevelt are ranked 790th).

Legacy hit Roosevelt with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from George Sanchez, Jeremy Ramirez, Benjy Flores, and Noah Bustillo.

The win made it two in a row for Garfield and bumps their season record up to 7-6-3. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two matches. As for Legacy, their record is now 10-6-3.
