Baseball Recap: Bosque Comes Up Short

Bosque lost to Dexter on Saturday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Bobcats fell 17-13 to the Demons. Even though they lost, the Bobcats' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.3 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Luca Kalishman made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and fired off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 3-for-5. He has become a key player for Bosque: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least three hits, but 3-14 otherwise. Drew Hebert was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Bosque has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season. As for Dexter, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-14.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bosque will head out to square off against Highland at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Hornets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.9 runs per game on average), something the Bobcats will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Dexter, they will venture away from home to take on Ruidoso at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Demons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season.
