Recap: East Duplin Panthers vs. North Duplin Rebels
While it was all tied up 25-25 at halftime, the East Duplin Panthers were not quite the North Duplin Rebels's equal in the second half on Friday. East Duplin took a 53-39 bruising from North Duplin. East Duplin was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as North Duplin apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2019.
East Duplin's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was carrie carr, who scored 8 points along with 16 rebounds and 5 blocks. Another player making a difference was Zakoya Farrior, who scored 7 points along with 4 steals.
Addy Higginbotham was the offensive standout of the match as she scored 27 points. Tateyawna Faison was another key contributor, scoring 10 points.
East Duplin's loss dropped their record down to 2-1. As for North Duplin, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
East Duplin will head out on the road to face off against White Oak at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for North Duplin, they will play host again and welcome Jones, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jones is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
