Baseball Recap: Chester Victorious

While Chester's victory against Penn Wood wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Clippers had just enough and edged out the Patriots 4-2. The Clippers haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Juan Martinez made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out 11 batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and one RBI. He has become a key player for Chester: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 1-5 otherwise.

In other batting news, Kevin Logan was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Chester's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 2-4 when he doesn't).

Chester's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Penn Wood, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.
