Baseball Game Preview: Windsor Owls vs. Herculaneum Black Cats

Windsor has gone a perfect 3-0 against Herculaneum recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Owls will be playing at home against the Black Cats at 4:30 p.m. Herculaneum took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Windsor, who comes in off a win.

Windsor is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 12-5 margin over Jefferson on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Owls in their matchups with the Blue Jays: they've now won four in a row.

The team relied heavily on Owen Haegele, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Ethan Shirk, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Haegele wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Windsor kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Herculaneum was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 10-0 to Potosi.

Windsor's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Herculaneum, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Windsor skirted past Herculaneum 11-10 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Owls repeat their success, or do the Black Cats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
