Preview: Campbell Spartans vs. East Coweta Indians
Campbell has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against The East Coweta Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Campbell will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 214th, while East Coweta is ranked 37th).
Campbell fell victim to Wheeler's stalwart defense back in September and couldn't make it onto the board. They were beaten by the Wildcats 45-0. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Campbell in their matchups with Wheeler: they've now lost four in a row.
Meanwhile, East Coweta had to suffer through a rough 56-24 loss at the hands of Carrollton. East Coweta was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-10.
The losing side was boosted by Dionte Jones, who rushed for 138 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries. Jones' longest rush was for an incredible 91 yards.
The losses dropped Campbell to 2-4 and East Coweta to 5-2.
Campbell took a serious blow against East Coweta in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, falling 44-7. Can Campbell avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
