Volleyball Recap: New Philadelphia Takes a Loss

The home team had won the previous three meetings between New Philadelphia and Ashland, and Ashland kept the tradition alive. The Quakers fell 3-1 to the Arrows on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Quakers of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-23, 25-11, 25-27, 25-23.

Despite the loss, New Philadelphia still got an impressive performance from Marisa Loader, who had 18 digs and two aces.

Leading Ashland to victory were Allison Welch and Katelyn Aber. Welch had nine digs and one assist, while Aber had 19 digs, ten kills, and two aces. That's the most digs Aber has posted since back in October of 2024.

New Philadelphia's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Ashland, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

New Philadelphia has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Mansfield Senior on the 23rd. As for Ashland, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against South Central on the 23rd.
