Softball Recap: Roncalli Victorious

Roncalli picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They walked away with a 5-1 win over the Benet Academy Redwings. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Royals.

Roncalli got a great performance from Kayla Brewer as she didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Elise Baker was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted over her last four contests. Eva Hurrle was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two doubles.

Roncalli kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matchups.

Roncalli's victory bumped their record up to 14-2. As for Benet Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.

Roncalli has already played their next contest, a 7-2 loss against Cathedral on the 5th. As for Benet Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 13-3 win against Saint Viator on the 5th.
