Basketball Recap: Port St. Lucie Has No Trouble Against Morningside Academy

Port St. Lucie won the last time they faced Morningside Academy and things went their way on Thursday too. The Jaguars took down the Eagles (Eddy) 52-38. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Jaguars.

Port St. Lucie found their leader in sophomore Bryan Desgrottes, who went 9-for-18 to rack up 20 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Isaac Sylvain, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 12 boards.

Port St. Lucie was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Morningside Academy only racked up four.

Despite the loss, Morningside Academy still got an impressive performance from Jaiven Jackson, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds. Jackson is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least ten every time he's taken the court this season.

Port St. Lucie has also opened the season with a perfect 2-0 record. As for Morningside Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Port St. Lucie has already played their next matchup, a 52-51 defeat against Tradition Prep on the 21st. As for Morningside Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 72-54 loss against Benjamin on the 21st.
