Softball Recap: Edmonds-Woodway Wins Going Away Against Lynnwood

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Glacier Peak, Edmonds-Woodway was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Lynnwood Royals as Edmonds-Woodway made off with a 13-1 victory. Considering the Warriors have won four contests by more than 11 runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Ella Campbell made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Campbell was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. That home run was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Edmonds-Woodway got a massive performance out of Abby McCorvey, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three hits gave McCorvey a new career-high. Noa Gillespie was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Edmonds-Woodway kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Edmonds-Woodway's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Lynnwood, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Edmonds-Woodway will take on rival Everett at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Lynnwood is set to face off against their familiar foe Archbishop Murphy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
