Recap: Chaparral Cowboys vs. Del Sol Dragons
The Chaparral Cowboys can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They strolled past Del Sol with points to spare, taking the game 50-35. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Chaparral has managed all season.
Qualib Ghallab continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a triple-double on 12 points, ten rebounds, and ten blocks. The contest was his 16th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tavion Royal, who scored ten points.
Defeat or not, Del Sol got some senior leadership from Giovanni Perez who dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 rebounds and Wesley Dellaud who scored six points along with six rebounds. Those 15 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him.
Chaparral's win bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Del Sol, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chaparral will challenge Legacy at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Legacy's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four contests. Del Sol will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Southeast Career Tech at 6:30 p.m. on January 8th. Southeast Career Tech comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 20 points in their last seven games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
