Soccer Recap: Mitchell Comes Up Short

Mitchell and Jefferson Academy squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Mitchell had to settle for second. They lost 4-0 to the Jaguars. Having soared to a lofty ten goals in the game before, Mitchell's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Mitchell's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6-2. As for Jefferson Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2-4 record this season.

Mitchell does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Jefferson Academy, they will challenge Lamar at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lamar's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
