Basketball Recap: Oak Mountain Academy Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Jeb Harper and Mads Koelling

Oak Mountain Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost to the Holy Ground Baptist Academy Stallions at home by a 52-37 margin. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 71-41 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2023.

Despite the defeat, Oak Mountain Academy had strong showings from Mads Koelling, who went 6 for 13 on his way to 13 points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals, and Jeb Harper, who posted eight points and five boards. That was a full 35.1% of Oak Mountain Academy's points, marking the third time in a row he's put up more than a third of the team's points.

Oak Mountain Academy's record is now 1-5. As for Holy Ground Baptist Academy, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oak Mountain Academy will welcome Hearts Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Holy Ground Baptist Academy, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Lafayette Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
