Softball Recap: Chaffey's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Chaffey hadn't done well against Chino recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Chaffey Tigers blew past the Chino Cowboys 12-1. Considering the Tigers have won four games by more than eight runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Gabriela Lomeli, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4. Sienna Retamoza was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Chaffey lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April of 2024.

The victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10.5 runs. As for Chino, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Chaffey Tigers take on Diamond Ranch Panthers at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Diamond Ranch 4.1, Chaffey 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Chino, they will challenge Don Lugo at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Chino has given up an average of 9.6 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
