Recap: Mullins Auctioneers vs. Lee Central Stallions
The Mullins Auctioneers came tearing into Wednesday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Lee Central and snuck past 45-42. That's two games straight that Mullins has won by exactly three points.
It was another big night for JJ Davis, who scored 21 points. The match was his fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Lonnie Alston, who scored six points.
Despite the loss, Lee Central saw an underclassman step up: Kiauj Allen scored 12 points. Rjay Spann was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Mullins pushed their record up to 13-5 with that victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.4 points per game. As for Lee Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mullins will challenge Andrews at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lee Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Socastee at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
