Emmaus proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by ten) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. Their defense stepped up to hand the Northampton Konkrete Kids a 1-0 shutout. Give Emmaus' defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Ben Grossi, which was the first he's scored this season.

Emmaus' win bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Northampton, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Emmaus will face off against rival Bethlehem Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Northampton is set to take on their familiar foe Freedom at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
