Basketball Preview: Sheldon Panthers vs. Ballard Bulldogs
The Sheldon Panthers will head out on the road to take on the Ballard Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Saturday, Sheldon was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 48-42 to the Patriots. That's two games in a row now that Sheldon has lost by exactly six points.
Meanwhile, Ballard's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Friday after their eighth straight loss. They fell to Jefferson Independent Day 56-52.
This is the second loss in a row for Sheldon and nudges their season record down to 13-8. As for Ballard, they dropped their record down to 1-12 with that defeat, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.
Everything came up roses for Sheldon against the Bulldogs when the teams last played back in November of 2023 as the team secured a 63-36 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sheldon since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
