Metrolina Christian Academy faced Marvin Ridge in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Warriors came up short against the Mavericks, falling 3-0. The Warriors' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

While Metrolina Christian Academy ultimately came up short, they really made Marvin Ridge work, particularly in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 25-20, 25-20.

Tyler Gadd paced Metrolina Christian Academy's offense, picking up 11 kills. Gadd got some help from Daniel Titherington and his 19 assists. Titherington was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.
