Football Recap: Mccook Starts Season with Victory at Home

McCook gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They put the hurt on the Beatrice Orangemen with a sharp 41-15 victory. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 20-0.

Tristan Campbell was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 179 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.2 yards per carry.

Special teams also played a big role in the game for McCook, adding 11 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Campbell, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Coming up, McCook is headed away from home for the first time to face off against Aurora on Friday. As for Beatrice, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Crete on Friday.
