Football Recap: Mccook Starts Season with Win at Home

McCook gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 41-15 margin over the Beatrice Orangemen. The victory continues a trend for the Bison in their matchups with the Orangemen: they've now won five in a row.

Tristan Campbell had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 179 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.2 yards per carry.

Special teams also played a big role in the game for McCook, adding 11 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Campbell, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Although Beatrice took the loss, they still got scores from Jordon Griffith and Merrick Johnson.

Coming up, McCook will venture away from home to face off against Aurora on Friday. As for Beatrice, they will host Crete on Friday.
