Basketball Recap: Governor Thomas Johnson Patriots vs. Tuscarora Titans
The Governor Thomas Johnson Patriots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They fell 54-41 to Tuscarora. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Governor Thomas Johnson of the 53-51 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Riley Kelly, who scored eight points along with 13 rebounds and three blocks. Zoe Nso was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five steals.
Skylar Davis was a one-man wrecking crew for Tuscarora as she dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Davis has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Cahya Jefferson, who scored five points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Governor Thomas Johnson has not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season. As for Tuscarora, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-11.
Governor Thomas Johnson will head out on the road to challenge the Leopards at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Tuscarora, they will face off against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
