The Del Valle Cardinals will venture away from home to square off against the Leander Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
Del Valle lost 37-13 to Clemens on Friday. The Cardinals haven't had much luck with the Buffaloes recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Meanwhile, Leander got the win against Hendrickson on Thursday by a conclusive 42-21.
Mason Montgomery was a one-man wrecking crew for Leander as he rushed for 65 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries, and also threw for 102 yards and two touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes. Zane Wooldridge was another key player, picking up 161 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Leander was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 315 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in August of 2023.
Leander wouldn't let Hendrickson keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Jake Bridwell was the leader in that area as all came courtesy of his dominant performance.
Del Valle's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Leander, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-1.
