Newton and Robinson are an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2015, but not for long. The Eagles will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Maroons at 7:00 p.m. Newton is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Newton and Paris, and Paris kept the tradition alive. The Eagles took a 34-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers on Friday.

Meanwhile, Robinson's contest on Friday was close up to the half, but then they kicked things up a notch. They blew past Lawrenceville 39-19. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Maroons.

Newton better keep an eye on Reese Johnson. He was instrumental in Robinson's win, rushing for 160 yards and a pair of TDs on only 15 carries, while also throwing for 169 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 passes. Johnson is becoming a predictor of the Maroons' success: when he posts at least 80 rushing yards the team is undefeated (and 0-3 when he doesn't). Robinson's leading receiver Miles Hardiman was Johnson's top target yet again, picking up 151 receiving yards and two scores.

Robinson was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 244 rushing yards. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 94 rushing yards per game earlier this season, but in their last five games they've averaged 188.3.

The victory got Robinson back to even at 3-3. As for Newton, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.
