Softball Recap: Laguna Creek Takes a Loss

Laguna Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 10-4 to the Vanden Vikings. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cardinals of the 9-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2019.

Laguna Creek saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aundrea Jackson, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Laguna Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Vanden, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 13-4.

Coming up, Laguna Creek will face off against Pleasant Grove at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so the Cardinals' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Vanden, they will take on Wood at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season.
