Basketball Game Preview: East Peoria Raiders vs. Washington Panthers

The East Peoria Raiders just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Washington Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. East Peoria will be strutting in after a victory while Washington will be coming in after a loss.

East Peoria will head into Tuesday's match on the come-up: they were handed a 29-point defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They skirted past Centennial 86-84. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Raiders considering their 25-point performance the contest before.

Meanwhile, Washington fought the good fight in their overtime game against Streator on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Bulldogs 57-53. That's two games in a row now that the Panthers have lost by exactly four points.

Washington has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.6 points per game. As for East Peoria, their win bumped their record up to 17-7.

East Peoria beat Washington 54-46 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for East Peoria since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
