Basketball Recap: Pawnee City Sets Scoring Season-High Against Johnson County Central

Pawnee City scored the most points they've had this season on Saturday, but it wasn't enough. They received a blow as they fell 54-39 to the Johnson County Central Thunderbirds. The Indians haven't had much luck with the Thunderbirds recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Despite the loss, Pawnee City still got an impressive performance from Madelyn Osborne, who posted 14 points and six boards. That's the most points Osborne has posted since back in December of 2023.

Even though they lost, Pawnee City smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Pawnee City's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Johnson County Central, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pawnee City will venture away from home to take on Lourdes Central Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Johnson County Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Palmyra at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
