The Middletown North Lions sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Manchester Township Hawks on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Middletown North who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 18-25, 25-20.

Middletown North's win bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Manchester Township, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.
