Basketball Recap: Horizon Honors Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Horizon Honors can now relate to. They were dealt a 58-26 loss at the hands of the Pima Roughriders on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Eagles have suffered since January 11th.

Despite the loss, Horizon Honors still got an impressive performance from Audriana Anglada, who went 5-for-8 to rack up 14 points. Anglada is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 60% in the last three games she's played.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pima to victory, but perhaps none more so than Macy Allred, who went 7-for-11 on her way to 19 points and three steals. What's more, Allred also posted a 71% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2023. Kelsi Brimhall was another key player, putting up ten points and three steals.

Horizon Honors' loss dropped their record down to 18-12. As for Pima, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 20-8.

Horizon Honors does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pima, they are taking a road trip to square off against Fountain Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pima is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.8 points per game this season.
