Basketball Recap: Belfast Takes a Loss

Belfast was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 76-33 defeat at the hands of the Ellsworth Eagles. The Lions were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 48-44.

Belfast's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Ellsworth, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Belfast will take on rival Nokomis at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Ellsworth is set to challenge their familiar foe John Bapst Memorial at 8:00 p.m. on Monday.
